Mrs Sophia Chan-Yap

Sophia is CEO and Co-Founder of Path of Victors - Hong Kong’s first business reality show with a core vision to raise Hong Kong entrepreneurship to a whole new level by bringing together entrepreneurs, angel investors, venture capital funds, family offices, industrialists, trade associations, professionals and visionaries, with the aim to raise the next billion dollar unicorns and aspire entrepreneurs. Prof. Cees de Bont

Prof. de Bont has solid experience and track records in the management and leadership of a sizable and leading design schools in the world. He took up the deanship in the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2005 and carries responsibility for the School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University since February 2012.
Prof. de Bont has a good mix of academic and industrial experience. He started his academic career in 1993 as Assistant Professor of Economic Psychology at the University of Tilburg. During his appointment in the University of Tilburg, Professor de Bont also acted as a consultant to the Philips Design in Eindhoven of the Netherlands. In 1995, he joined Philips Design to become responsible for the Human Behaviour Research Centre. He was subsequently Head of Marketing Research and Strategy at Philips Domestic Appliances and Personal Care from 1997 to 2005 where he was responsible for generating and utilizing market information for the formulation of the strategy, R&D and marketing plans of the company.

Dr Theofanis Fotis

Dr Theo Fotis is the Principal Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, University of Brighton, UK. As a nursing futurist, he is an active researcher in the area of Digital Health and has conducted research in UK and Greece. He is also the editor-in-chief of the British Journal of Anaesthetic & Recovery Nursing. Dr Fotis holds an MSc and PhD, both on Health Care Management.
He is a frequent visitor to Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia as a visiting lecturer and consultant respectively and he has a strong network of collaborators nationally and internationally both within his research field and in the disciplines of computing and engineering.
In 2015, he used the term ‘Digital Nursing’, to define a future workforce of health care practitioners with the special knowledge and skills to utilise digital technologies for patient benefit.
He is currently leading a Digital Health Living Lab, where citizens, health professionals and industry are working side-by-side on health innovation through co-creation.
Recently, he has been named as one of the top 50 healthcare information technology leaders in Europe by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS Europe), the largest health information technology membership organisations in the world.

Mr Low Cheaw Hwei

Mr Low Cheaw Hwei is Head of Design for Philips in Asia and Head of Government and Public Affairs for Philips in Singapore. Currently on the Philips ASEAN Pacific management team, Cheaw Hwei looks after the overall direction of Philips Design in the region, leading the company through a design transformation, as Philips – a leader in healthcare technology – moves towards experience and solutions based innovation. His second role brings synergy in driving both Design and Innovation initiatives into the work that Philips does in Singapore.
Having held various creative and management roles in the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Singapore, Cheaw Hwei has led Philips Design in design management, and creative and brand design strategy. At Philips, Cheaw Hwei held top design roles as Chief Design Officer for Philips TV and Audio-Video, and Global Creative Director for Philips Consumer Lifestyle. Beyond achieving commercial success, Cheaw Hwei has led teams to win multiple local and international design and innovation awards, including the President’s Design Award, iF, RedDot and Singapore G-mark.
A respected industry veteran, Cheaw Hwei has served as board member for various design platforms such as the Design Singapore Council, and judged at international competitions. He is also a frequent speaker at international design forums and was recently awarded the Public Service Medal for his contribution to design education.

Ms Debra Meiburg MW

A Hong Kong resident for nearly 30 years, Master of Wine Debra Meiburg is an award-winning author, TV personality and international speaker, and is widely considered the global authority on the Asian wine market. She is founding director of Meiburg Wine Media, Asia’s leading wine marketing agency, as well as wine consultant for Cathay Pacific Airways and Cathay Dragon, and holds the position of Chair of the Education Committee for the Institute of Masters of Wine.
Debra is producer and host of several documentaries and TV shows, including Taste the Wine which is broadcast in 26 countries, Grape Moments, a video series broadcast via taxis to 70 million monthly viewers in China, and the online video series Meet the Winemaker. She has a monthly column in the South China Morning Post, among other publications, judges several wine competitions annually and is founding director of the world’s first truly pan-Asian wine competition, the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition.
A former wine professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and an always passionate educator, Debra’s suite of award-winning wine educational books and tools are currently distributed on four continents, and her five-volume book series, Debra Meiburg’s Guide to the Asian Wine Trade, and conferences series Wine in China and Wine SPIT have firmly established her as champion of the Asian wine trade.
Debra’s string of accolades includes: Entrepreneur of the Year (Women of Influence) by the South China Morning Post & the American Chamber of Commerce; 7th Most Powerful Woman in Wine by The Drinks Business magazine; the China Power List Award by WINE Magazine (China); and the Il Premio Internazionale (Vinitaly International Award).

Didier Pittet, MD, MS, is Professor of Medicine, the Hospital Epidemiologist and Director of the Infection Control Programme and World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety at the University of Geneva Hospitals and Faculty of Medicine, Geneva, Switzerland. He holds Honorary Professorships at Imperial College London, UK, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Health Science, and the First Medical School of the Fu, Shanghai, China. Fellow, Royal Society of Medicine, Ireland. Honorary member, All-Russian Scientific Societies of Epidemiologists, Microbiologists and Parasitologists. Professor Pittet is Lead Adviser of the WHO “Clean Care is Safe Care” and the African Partnerships for Patient Safety programmes, Patient Safety, WHO Headquarter.
Prof. Pittet is the recipient of several national and international honours including a CBE (Commander of the British Empire) awarded by Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II for services to the prevention of healthcare-associated infection in the UK (2007), the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Lectureship for his contribution to infection control and healthcare epidemiology (2008), the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases’ Award for Excellence (2009), the American Society for Microbiology (ASM/ICAAC 2016) and the Robert Koch award (2017). The book “Clean Hands Save Lives” by the French writer Thierry Crouzet (Editions L’Âge d’Homme, 2014), published in 18 languages (2017), and the movie “Clean Hands” (AFTERMEDIA, 2016), describe Didier Pittet medical odyssey to promote patient safety worldwide.
Prof. Pittet is co-author of more than 500 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 50 textbook chapters. He is the editor of the first textbook “Hand Hygiene – A Handbook for Medical Professionnals”- Pittet, Boyce, Allegranzi, Wiley-Blackwell, 2017. Prof. Pittet serves on the editorial boards of several journals and is an editorial consultant of the Lancet. Prof. Pittet has delivered a large number of plenary and opening lectures at all major meetings and congresses in the field of infectious diseases, infection control as well as patient safety. He is recognized as a fascinating and very engaging speaker. Prof. Pittet’s current research interests include the epidemiology and prevention of healthcare-associated infections, methods for improving compliance with barrier precautions and hand hygiene practices, as well as innovative methods for improving the patient care and safety. He is also involved in research on the epidemiology of infectious diseases, and public and global health issues. The experience of his team in engaging nations and healthcare settings worldwide in a universal commitment to patient safety is unique.
